THE LAST DAYS OF JESUS

Jesus told his disciples that He will spend the last days of his life on earth in Jerusalem.

When the time had come Jesus and his disciples went to Jerusalem. It was close to the Jewish Passover.

During one of these days Jesus entered Jerusalem on a colt and was welcomed by a large crowd. On his way to the Temple, coming down the Mount of Olives, He stopped and wept over the city.

Jesus ministered at the Temple and went with his disciples to the upper room where He introduced them to The Lord's Supper. Then He went down the Kidron Valley to the Mount of Olives where He prayed in great anguish in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Here He was arrested, then sentenced to death after several socalled "hearings".

Then Jesus was crucified on a place called Golgotha and his body was laid to rest in a tomb.

After his resurrection Jesus appeared to his followers on a few occasions and ascended to heaven from the Mount of Olives near Bethany.

A pilgrimage to the sites related to the last days of Jesus is indeed a life changing experience.
